This book turned out to be a big page turner! I read it while on vacation, and was captivated in the world building and character development. I followed the story line of Dominic and Lerah, and without giving away spoilers, they had an epic quest to accomplish in a post apoc world. I was surprised on who the turncoat was in the story!!!!Highly recommend.

Good book. A little different than the rabid, but that made it more interesting for me. Hope next book comes out soon.
Wow, couldn't put it down got through the first 5 chapters in one sitting. Were there other things I could be doing? Sure. Was there anything else I wanted to do? No. This book grabs you and puts you in the room with every Character, you can hear Dr. Scroggins throat dry, you feel him tense up at the horrors he witnesses. You can smell the dust and the ash from Dominic's clothing. Its a story that transports you solidly into their world. I haven't had a novel capture me like this since I read ISOIAF. I'm in love with this new series already.
'Book 1' in the series is off to a good start. There is plenty of intrigue and lots of fighting. The story is good, but by the end of the book our heroes are in dire straits. I prefer better endings, but the book is a 'good read' non-the-less.
Excellent story line. Characters very interesting, n o t all that deep but still interesting. Good editing. Good pace of action. Left hanging and set up for next book. This may be a movie. Xxxxxxxxxxx
J.V. has a unique outlook on writing a post apocalypse story. The characters are gritty and strong with a dash of humor. Just bought the next book in the series.
JVR has written a novel of the future that entails a return to a prior war of many years before. The Civil War 1861-1865. The resemblance between the Union and the South of yesterday as compared to the split mentioned in this novel. As the man traveled north he met up with the people he fought against and to many were murders. This is an excellent read for the genre..... ER
This story was absolutely genius. The characters are interesting and relatable. I especially love the bond that forms between Dominic and Lerah throughout their mission. There is seriously a whole new level of crazy with some other characters that will have you wanting to put a bullet through their skull. The setting of the story is awesome, it's almost like a Mad Max era. The plot is great, so many unexpected twists and turns. (No spoilers here) A must read!!! Can't wait for the next book.
